Find it!

Find it! held data on many of the libraries involved with Inspire. Public, university, FE, health and many specialist libraries too.

The Find it! website offered the first single point of access to the resources of such a wide range of libraries opening up the great wealth of collections and information which had largely been hidden in our libraries.

Through Inspire and the use of Find it!, we effectively created a distributed national library available to everyone.

Find it! allowed anyone to identify, quickly and easily, -

• which libraries hold resources on specific subjects
• where these libraries are and
• what the terms are for visitors to access those resources.

Find it! has been closed down as for technical reasons it has proved impossible to maintain its currency. Much of the data it holds has been and continues to be transferred to the Inspire website which will reproduce Findit!‘s functionality. This work is ongoing. Library staff are encouraged to get in touch with Sally Curry (contact details below) to update or add information on their library on this website.

Inspire will continue to offer the what is effectively a distributed national library service available to everyone.
